What Can Air Duct Sanitizing Do For You?
Even though we have a lot of articles about the weird things we find in people’s air ducts, by far the most common thing people think of when we do duct cleaning is dust. Yes, we definitely will get the dust out, but any duct cleaning company will do that. With our air duct sanitizing service, however, we can get a lot more than just that. Here’s some things we can do that you won’t find from many other companies in the greater Logan area.
Why Our Air Duct Sanitizing Service Is What You Want
1. Allergy Elimination
The one thing people say they notice the most after we complete our air duct sanitizing is how much easier it is to breathe, especially when they’re trying to sleep. This is because in addition to dust, our cleaning will remove allergens from your ducts. Pollen, pet dander, and other airborne allergens make breathing more difficult. You cough more, you get an itchy throat, your sinuses clog up, and all this is very uncomfortable. When you’re trying to sleep, it can disrupt sleep by waking you up during the night. When paired with the incredibly common condition of sleep apnea, this is especially bad. Many of our customers say that they sleep much better after we’ve done our work because we remove some of the problems causing this.
2. Odor Removal
There are a lot of smells that are really hard to get rid of through regular cleaning. Sometimes, this is because the smells get into your air ducts, which spread it all throughout the house. You can’t remove these odors with just a vacuum. This is why we also use the SaniJet system for our air duct sanitizing system. The jet sprays a cleaner in a way that will coat the entire duct system, attacking odors that you otherwise couldn’t get. See it in action!
We’ve been able to remove all sorts of bad smells with it.
- Cigarette smoke? We once removed it from an entire hotel.
- Smell of rotting meat? If animals like mice or birds get into your vents and die, the first time you’ll notice it is usually when they start to smell. Not only can we remove their corpses, but we’ll get rid of the scent as well.
- We’re a great follow-up after fire damage restoration, helping remove the last traces of fire damage from your vents.
3. EPA Approved, Medical Grade Cleaner
We use a special cleaner in our air duct sanitizing process: VitalOxide. This is an EPA approved sanitizer used by hospitals, and you know how serious the sanitation standards are in that industry! This product has been tested and proven effective against not just allergens and bad odors, but it also kills disease spreading bacteria, viruses, mold, and mildew. To our knowledge, we’re the only air duct cleaning service in Cache Valley that uses this cleaner. When you come to us, you know you’ll be getting the best!
4. It’s A Part of Our Regular Cleaning Service
Many duct cleaning companies don’t even do sanitizing. Among those that do, most of them will offer it as a separate service. They will try to upsell you on it so they can make more money. If you refuse the service, then you aren’t getting a complete cleaning job and you’ll still have to deal with any odors, and possible growing colonies of infectious bacteria or mold. It’s not really a great deal for you.
On the other hand, we offer the sanitization as a part of our regular duct cleaning service, so you don’t have to worry about it. It’s usually cheaper this way for you, too, so you get the whole package at a better price. For more deeply saturated and lingering smells, there is an additional process we have to go through, but in a lot of cases the standard cleaning and sanitizing handles the majority of odors home-owners will deal with.
Why Our Air Duct Sanitizing System Works So Well
A lot of cleaning companies use foggers when they want to sanitize things, but foggers aren’t really that efficient. The vaporized cleaner condenses unevenly across the air ducts. Depending on any number of factors, the cleaner may not condense at all in some places, or in others, it may condense too much and leave behind puddles. If puddles get left behind, eventually the cleaner will settle and the rest of the moisture can attract more dirt and mold. Our SaniJet system gives your air ducts an even coating across your entire duct system that won’t leave behind any puddles. This cleans them much more effectively.
How Long Has it Been Since You’ve Had Your Ducts Cleaned?
Although we’re starting to get regular customers, we still regularly hear from people that they don’t remember when they had their ducts last cleaned. Most aren’t even sure their ducts have ever been cleaned. That’s because the ducts are out of sight and most people don’t think about it. Thanks to how well modern HVAC systems are designed, you shouldn’t need your ducts cleaned very frequently, so it’s even easier to forget. Even with the best designed HVAC system, however, we still recommend getting your ducts cleaned at least once every 3-5 years.
If you can’t remember the last time you had your air ducts cleaned, then you’re probably overdue. If you want to breathe easy in your own home and get a better night’s sleep than you’ve had in a long time, we’re ready to make that happen. Get in touch with us today to schedule an appointment!
